Multispectral Scanning

Overview

Multispectral Scanning

Aeronica's drone-based multispectral scanning service captures beyond-visible-light imagery across 5 spectral bands — Green, Red, Red Edge, Near-Infrared (NIR), and Thermal — to generate NDVI, NDRE, chlorophyll, and water-stress index maps. Deployed on the Samrudhhi-10LH platform with a MicaSense-class multispectral payload, a single flight covers 200+ acres and delivers actionable crop health intelligence within hours.

Capabilities

What We Deliver

A comprehensive suite of spectral indices and analytics powered by drone hardware and AI-driven processing.

NDVI Mapping

Normalised Difference Vegetation Index maps identify plant vigour across entire fields. Detect stressed zones, poor germination areas, and nutrient deficiencies before visible symptoms appear.

NDRE & Chlorophyll Index

Red-Edge band analysis provides earlier stress detection than NDVI. Chlorophyll content mapping guides targeted fertiliser applications, cutting input costs by up to 30%.

Water Stress & Irrigation Mapping

Thermal and NIR band correlation reveals water-deficit zones at field scale. Enables precision irrigation scheduling to reduce water consumption while protecting yield.

Pest & Disease Detection

Early identification of fungal, bacterial, and insect infestations through spectral anomaly detection. Localised treatment zones reduce pesticide use by up to 40% compared to blanket application.

Variable Rate Application (VRA) Maps

Export prescription maps directly compatible with Samrudhhi-10L and Samrudhhi-10LH spraying systems for automated variable-rate fertiliser and pesticide dispensing based on actual crop need.

Forestry & Environmental Monitoring

Canopy health assessment, biomass estimation, and deforestation change detection for forest departments, carbon credit projects, and environmental impact assessments.

Methodology

How We Deliver Results

A structured, repeatable process refined across hundreds of agricultural missions.

01

Crop & Site Assessment

We review crop variety, growth stage, field boundaries, and prior yield data to select the optimal spectral bands, flight altitude, and sensor configuration for the specific scouting objective.

02

Multispectral Flight

DGCA-certified pilots fly a pre-planned autonomous grid mission at 30-60 m AGL with 80% front and side overlap. Radiometric calibration panels are placed for accurate reflectance capture at every flight.

03

Spectral Processing

Aeroni.AI ingests raw multispectral images, performs radiometric correction, stitches ortho-mosaics for each band, and computes spectral index maps (NDVI, NDRE, GNDVI, SAVI, thermal overlay).

04

Actionable Report & VRA Map

You receive a zonal health report, colour-coded index maps (GeoTIFF / KMZ), a prescription variable-rate application shapefile, and a recommendation advisory — ready within 24 hours of the flight.
